I first met Rob when he made a presentation at the United Way of Ottawa, where I served as a Board member. Rob and I later served as board members of the Social Planning Council of Ottawa, a catalyst for community social and economic development. As the Treasurer and Vice President, Rob played a crucial role at a time when SPCO was going through reorganization and re-invigoration. Rob was diligent and reliable. His contribution was insightful, thoughtful and practical. His wealth of knowledge and understanding of the educational need of our community was invaluable for SPCO’s youth-focused projects. Rob is a person of authenticity and integrity. Rob is leader who keeps his promises and delivers more than the call of duty. I fully endorse!

Rob is the best possible choice for Trustee in College ward. As a trustee, he came prepared to OCDSB meetings and he always made time to listen to parents. He certainly has my support.

Pam FitzGerald Former OCDSB Trustee Zone 5 / College, former Chair Ottawa-Carleton Assembly of School Councils, Pinecrest-Queensway CHC 2009 Community Service Award
I have known Rob in his previous tenure as an OCDSB trustee, and worked with him in his role as a member of the Special Education Policy Advisory Committee (SEPAHC). In both roles, Rob was thoughtful, considered and objective person who researches issues thoroughly. He looks beyond purely bureaucratic solutions, in order to find more equitable solutions which better meet the needs of children. In particular, as a member of SEPAHC, he worked to create a policy which normalize schooling opportunities for children with special education needs. I believe he will bring his dedication to fairness, and his hard work in researching issues to find good solutions to his role as a Trustee.
Beth Doubt Former Woodroofe PS school council member, former OCDSB Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) Chair

Anyone who knows Rob Campbell, or has worked with him in the community, will agree that he is an extremely dedicated individual who cares deeply about educational issues. Over the last two decades I have collaborated with Rob on a number of initiatives including the Ottawa Carleton Association of School Councils (OCASC) and the Ottawa Federation of Parents Childcare Services (OFPCS). A strong advocate for students, their schools and the communities in which they are located, Rob continues to bring a compassionate and thoughtful approach to discussions on education topics. Rob’s willingness to truly listen to the opinions of all, while seeking common ground among the disparate ideas, demonstrate his dedication to achieving excellence in educational service. His hard work, commitment and passion for those he serves make Rob Campbell an excellent Trustee.

I fully support Rob Campbell’s candidacy to again become a trustee with the OCDSB. Having worked with Rob in the past I know that he is a thoughtful, dedicated and knowledgable advocate for public education. In my experience Rob makes measured decisions after listening to all sides of an issue. It would be wonderful to have Rob’s experience and expertise back working for students at the OCDSB.
Janet Fraser former president of the Ottawa Carleton Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario (OCETFO)
Rob Campbell’s involvement in Public Education, as an OCDSB Trustee and with OCASC demonstrates his knowledge within the scope of the education system, advocating for Public Education. As Past Chair and participation on many of the OCDSB’s Committees and of the Board itself, he showed not only great leadership but an innate ability to listen and work collaboratively and respectfully with parents, constituents, communities, OCDSB Trustees and staff. Rob is thorough and is always keen to have a good knowledge of day-to-day policies and topics of concern. He understands both the economics and the community concerns of issues including school closures, the Provincial Grant System for education and allocations of funds to all aspects of programming including the arts, special education, and English and French learning. I welcome his interest and commitment as candidate for OCDSB Trustee, for Zone 5, College Ward
Kate Preston-Thomas Past OCASC Representative to the OCDSB Budget Committee
I am very appreciative of Rob’s support for environmental initiatives at the OCDSB including the Outdoor Education Centres, active transportation (cycling and walking), reducing bottled water use, and energy on school roof tops. I am also appreciative of his long-time dedication and hard work for public education and the OCDSB. He genuinely consults with parents, is not afraid to ask hard questions of the Province, and makes sure every dollar is spent wisely. I am glad he is running for Trustee again. Every OCDSB student will benefit.

Elaine Hayles Parent, Member of the Advisory Committee on Equity (OCDSB)
While I was active on school issues, I got to know Rob well. I was always impressed with how hard he worked, first with OCASC and then with the Board. He is smart and has a really positive way of working with people. Rob has taken a four year rest from Board work, and is now ready to diligently represent the interests of parents and students of Zone 5.
John MacLatchy Former school council member for Briargreen PS, Greenbank MS (Co-Chair), and Sir Robert Borden HS; OCASC Secondary Schools Committee Co-Chair, and OCASC rep to School Board Budget Committee
In my capacity as an Association and Community Representative to, and the Chair of, the Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the last decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work with, and experience Rob’s personal dedication to all students of the OCDSB. In my opinion, Rob Campbell will deliver on his commitment to serve students and the families of Zone 5, College. Mr. Campbell as a Board Chair and Trustee brings a wealth of experience, dedication, an understanding of the issues coming forward and facing this School District. Rob will be an engaging Trustee should you need to call upon him. Rob’s focus will be the entirety of student need, not just special needs children. I personally support Rob Campbell in his campaign to become your Trustee.
